Resources

I get a lot of questions in my inbox about my favorite products that I use often. Here’s a short list of my favorite resources.

Website and blogging

Convertkit — For list building and email automation
Convertkit is a dope tool for people looking to build an email list. With Convertkit you can easily create sign-up forms, landing pages, email automation courses, and more. I switched from MailChimp in 2015 and have been using Convertkit ever since.

Flywheel — For WordPress hosting
Flywheel is the best WordPress hosting platform (period!). Before Flywheel, my WordPress sites were slow and always got hacked. Since switching to Flywheel, I have not gotten hacked and my websites are Usain Bolt fast. Their customer support is friendly, their design is dope, and they’re just great (I’m not exaggerating).

Bluehost — For general website hosting & domain names

Bluehost is an all-in-one web hosting company that helps you find and buy your domain name, build it, and host it. I’ve had Bluehost for over 8 years now and I’ve happily used most of their features (buying a domain name, creating an email account, and hosting). Bluehost’s the truth. They also have a WordPress hosting solution for those running WordPress websites but I’d recommend sticking to a platform like Flywheel for WordPress hosting.

Books I read once a year

4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris
This book literally changed my life. It’s changed the way I think about work, relationships, time, etc. Don’t take everything Tim says at face value but there are definitely some things in here for everyone.

How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
My sister and I have this little inside joke where she’s convinced that I could read minds. That started after I read this book for the first time. If you’re in the business of people (whether it’s employees, customers, etc) then you need to read this book. It’ll help you foster every relationship in your life.

Apps that I use every day

Audible — Audio books
Before Audible, my excuse for not reading was that I didn’t have time. With Audible, I’m not able to read while driving, cooking, exercising, etc.

Calm — Meditation
At one point in life, I used to think people who meditated were either corny or hippies. I guess I’m now a corny hippy. Calm teach corny hippies, like you and I, how to meditate.

Spotify—Music
*Insert nice quote here about Music and what it does for the heart, mind, and soul*. In a world full of Tidals, Apple Musics, etc. I choose Spotify for my music fix.

Duolingo — Languages
Fact — I’m obsessed with languages. Ahora je parle English, Haitian Creole, 40% French, and about 60% Spanish. Duolingo is the app that’s going to get my 40 and 60 percents to 100%.

Simple — Bank
“I love banks”, said no one ever! But trust me, you’ll love Simple. They fix all that’s wrong with banking.

Robinhood — Investing
If you heard Jay-Z’s 4:44 album then you should be investing your money. Robinhood makes investing simple, easy, and free.

Evernote — Writing
You have many thoughts. Your thoughts need a home. Make Evernote that home. In fact, I’m actually using Evernote to write this exact line.
